Back to the Beach

Believe it or not, while we were in Florida we only set foot on the beach twice.  Lorelai didn't seem to mind it one way or the other, but Miller really wanted nothing to do with it.  Here are some pictures from our first trek to the shore.

Showing off her braids before we headed out.
Miller refused to put his feet in the sand, but he was relatively content to stay put if he was carried to his destination.

Our blond-haired, blue-eyed boy had to keep his shirt on so as not to risk getting burnt to a crisp.
Enjoying his sandy Capri-Sun.
A serene moment between Grandma Catherine and the granddaughter who shares her name as they took in the beauty of the ocean.
Enough serenity...it was time to play in the waves!!!

All done!

Only the Beginning

It has always seemed as though Lorelai has been bound for the Arts.  When she was 2 1/2 her favorite movies were "Hairspray" and "Mamma Mia" and she knew all of the songs to both, not to mention every step of the choreography.  When my mom discovered this drama camp for kids in Fountain Inn it seemed absolutely perfect for her.  From the minute this workshop began until the curtain closed after the last performance, Lorelai was in heaven!  As far as her career in theatre is concerned, it looks like this is only the beginning

Here's the cover of her script.
The ticket stub from her first play.
Her first Playbill.  Am I becoming too nostalgic?

Here's where she went downstairs to get into costume.  The sign to the left above her head says, "Artist Entrance."  I love it!!
After the show several snapshots were taken.  Lorelai and Pap ~ How sweet!
Lorelai and the evil stepsisters.
Two of the mice who couldn't wait to pose with our girl.
In my humble opinion, the starts of the show ~ Lorelai and CInderella.
Lorelai's gorgeous flowers from Thea Caro and Mommy, Daddy, and Miller.

It's Never Too Early To Get Started

As everyone knows, Halloween is my favorite day of the whole year.  When I found these haunted brownie houses just waiting to be decorated I couldn't resist getting the kids in on the fun.  Lorelai helped me bake them while Miller was at school, but as soon as he walked in the door they sat down so the decorating could begin!
Icing was first on the agenda.

Of course, Lorelai had to sneak a few tastes right from the tube!
Next up, time for the candy decorations.

Lorelai's spooky house.  She actually had an amazing double-spider web embellished with candy corn, but she ate it before I had a chance to take a picture of it.  Go figure!!
Miller's mystery mansion.  He did all of the decorationg himself.
