A True Honor

One of the main reasons we went down to Destin during the week of the 4th was to serve as godparents for my cousin's daughters, Caroline and Bella.  As Catholics, being a godparent is one of the biggest honors someone can ask of you and we were more than happy to oblige.

Our goddaughters ~ Caroline on the left and Bella on the right.
I know several of these pictures of Lorelai and Miller have already been used in the header, but I couldn't resist posting them again.

Just a few outdoor pictures.

A few funny photos are always a welcomed addition.

Look Out Below!

I took these pictures last summer and ran across them the other day ~ I never even edited them until now.  Am I behind or what?!  Not sure why they're wearing such wintry pajamas in the summertime, but then again this daring duo is often a head scratcher.  Hope these put a smile on your face.

Destin ~ Day 1

Our first day in Destin we arrived before we could check into the beach house.  We were invited to come hang out at the pool at Caroline and Bella's house to kill some time.

The first order of business ~ swimming!  Here's Lorelai and Bella before taking a dip.

Miller went from the very understated watergun...
 ...to some heavier artillery.
After swimming it was time for lunch.  We went to a local establishment, Fudpucker's.  We had about a 30 minute wait so I took some pictures to make the time go by.

There was an alligator pit and you could buy food to feed them.  They weren't particularly hungry when we got there, so we didn't waste the money.
The kids snacked on some fresh fruit while we waited for our table.  Lorelai went for the sweet oranges.
Miller was a bit more adventurous by going for the limes.
Nice and tart!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Miller Man!!

Holy mackerel!  I can't even believe that our sweet baby boy turns 3 today!  I still remember how tiny he was when he was born and having to go out to buy preemie clothes because the newborn stuff we had for him was too big ~ even the preemie clothes were pretty roomy.

It's easy to see he was a very happy baby.  He's been smiling from day 1.
Aren't they precious and peaceful when they're sleeping?   :)
What a sweet face!
Here's our little man on his 1st birthday.
Rockin' the sporty Hawaiian shirt.
Mmmmmm, cake!
His 2nd birthday was celebrated in Destin while visiting Caroline & Bella.  A small family celebration is always special.

Here's our handsome man just a few days before he turned 3 ~ still smiling!!

You are a precious addition to our family.  Happy Birthday!  We love you ~ Mommy, Daddy & Lorelai

First Fish

Miller and Lorelai had their first experiences with fishing while in Destin.  Dan helped them cast and then they helped as much as possible with the reeling in process.

Our Miller Man was a little skeptical about the catching of the fish.  I think he liked the idea of it more than being close to the actual fish.

He eventually warmed to the idea...
...and finally he was actually excited about his accomplishment.
Lorelai with her catch of the day.
At the end of the day Dan ended up fishing while the kids roamed the docks looking for hermit crabs and snails.

Fountain Fun

This year, as per tradition, we're spending the week of the 4th down in Destin, FL visiting Lorelai and Miller's cousins Caroline and Bella.  So far I think Lorelai's favorite activity was going to Destin Commons and playing in the fountains that jump up sporadically.  Miller wouldn't venture in but I'm pretty sure Lorelai could have stayed there all day.
