A-Golfing We Will Go

While at Partee Time all of the kids played a round of mini-golf. 

Chase was up first and played through all nine holes pretty quickly. 

Lorelai got a lesson from Daddy.

 Sierra hit it smoothly through the windmill.

Miller decided the clubs were just slowing him down.

Meet Furman

As I mentioned previously, Furman is Sierra's class mascot.  He got to go to Partee Time with us and I think he had a pretty fun outing.  First, he got to have his picture made with "The Lighthouse Kid."

Next, he got to ride on the slides with Sierra and Lorelai.

Finally, he got to finish off the day with a tasty Cheerwine.  Who wouldn't enjoy a day like that?!

Celebrating Sierra's Special Award

Sierra won " The Lighthouse Kid" award two weeks ago.  One of the ways she wanted to celebrate was to go to Partee Time - Easley's version of Monkee Joe's.  She was nice enough to invite us to go along for the celebration.  She got to take the class mascot, Furman - a stuffed turtle - with her and had to take pictures with him while she did her activities.  (Another post will include Furman's journeys.) 

Fashion Fanatic

Lorelai absolutely loves to play dress-up.  When she found KatieGrace's dress-up trunk she couldn't wait to try on everything in it. 

Her new favorite color of the moment is pink, so this dress was huge a hit.  She looked adorable in it and wore it almost all day with different accessory configurations.

KatieGrace doesn't like to wear dresses but she was willing to sport some bunny ears while Lorelai added a tiara to her ensemble.

Time to ditch the tiara and add some earrings.

I just love the way she's perching in this one.

Not sure what made KatieGrace change her mind, but she decided to try on a dress and we were all pretty stunned.  That forced Lorelai to find a new dress - pretty fancy!!

This girl certainly knows how to work the camera.

Musicians in the Making

While on a recent playdate at KatieGrace's house, Lorelai and Miller found her trunk of musical instruments.  Since we don't keep many of those things around our place they were like kids in a candy store!  

First up was my music man on the trumpets.

Lorelai found a guitar to match her outfit of the moment.  (Fashion show post to follow at a later date.)

Apparently the level of musical expertise wasn't up to KatieGrace's liking.

All Aboard the Gingerbread Express

My mom found a gingerbread train on sale at Bed, Bath & Beyond, so one Saturday that was their activity of choice.  They made it in the morning and then napped while it "set."  They got to taste it after they woke up.

The bright green icing kind of made it look a little more like a haunted house than a gingerbread train...

...and there may have been some structural damage along the way.

Pajama Playdate

A few weekends ago my friend, Susan, and her daughter, KatieGrace, came over for a pajama playdate.  Luckily the kids, as well as the adults, are all great friends so while the little ones played the grown-ups got to chat and hang out.

When we hang out I typically provide the entree (pizza) and Susan provides the dessert (cupcakes).  She sweet talks the people behind the counter at Ingles and gets them to rearrange one of their containers so that we can have 3 vanilla cupcakes with white icing (and by white I mean iridescent yellow on this occasion) and 3 chocolate cupcakes with white icing (my favorite!!!).  This time the chocolate ones were decorated like some combination of an ice cream sundae/milkshake thing.  They were adorable and tasted every bit as good as they looked!

Getting punchy we decided to put leftover stickers on our faces from last year's calendar.  Susan had a reminder on her forehead to go to the dentist.

Time for some smooches...pucker up!
